We are a local Ballina Shire family and camped with school family friends for the first week of school holidays. This allowed some of us parents to still work while others stayed at the campground minding our group of kids. Super safe campground where kids roam or bike around safely. Very family-friendly, excellent and new facilities. Highlight is the waterpark and if you book the pool view camp spots you can sit at camp while keeping an eye on the kids on the waterslides only metres away. The cart hire is a win with the kids as well. Fishing on the river is super close by for when the beach is too windy. South Ballina beach is a short walk away and plenty of green spaces to pull out the cricket sat for a fun session with family or friends. Fire pits are also a win for roast marshmellow nights and cooler temperatures. Overall, a fantastic local campground and we will be back in the years to come.

Beautiful location and surroundings, and you can hear the ocean while falling asleep. There are lovely walking tracks through the bushland, and it’s fantastic to find somewhere genuinely pet friendly. We stayed in one of the pet-friendly Swag Glamping Tents, which was beautifully appointed, spacious and very comfortable. A small table on the deck would be a lovely addition for enjoying meals outside. The tents are also positioned fairly close together, so there isn’t a great deal of privacy and sound does travel between them. The park was very busy during my stay, and the shared bathrooms perhaps needed a little more attention during these peak periods. They weren’t particularly clean overnight or the following morning, so more frequent checks when the resort is at capacity would make a difference. I ordered the prawn pizza for dinner, which was fine for an easy meal onsite. Some of the convenience items are on the expensive side ($9 for a packet of chips was a bit of a surprise) so it’s probably worth bringing some of your own snacks and supplies. Communication before arrival could also be improved. I tried calling with a couple of questions but wasn’t able to get through. The booking and check-in experience is very automated and self-service, which is convenient, although having an easier way to speak with someone when needed would be helpful. Overall, it’s a beautiful, nature filled environment and I really appreciated how welcoming it is for people travelling with their dogs. I’d consider staying again, although next time I’d probably choose one of the more private accommodation options.

We stayed for one night and overall had a good stay. The resort was quite noisy until late in the evening, with many children around, so it may not be the best choice if you are looking for a quiet place. The toilets and showers were unfortunately quite dirty, even though they were cleaned regularly, which we appreciated. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the campsite to the beach. Our child really enjoyed the pool and water slide. Hiring the go-karts was also a lot of fun. We stayed 3 nights in an unpowered aite during the school holidays.  Despite being peak, the park was still quiet and relaxing. The facilities are fresh and clean and the camp kitchen exceptional. We were even allowed a camp fire which is the ultimate camping treat. The kids loved the pool, the water park and the surf beach only a short walk away. There were also lots of other kids around. The beach itself is not patrolled, and very quiet, we had it all to ourselves for a while. The kids also loved fishing in the river. Balina is a short drive (via toll ferry) or go round via Wardell for some excellent pies on the way. 10/10 will definitely be back

Absolutely loved our stay. The amenities were amazing! Clean, new and really well looked after. The location is perfect, close to the beach & great fishing spots. The activities for the kids on a rainy day were fantastic, and the waterpark & pool were lots of fun. Everyone (staff & guests) were so lovely and welcoming too. Such a great vibe all round. Can’t wait to come back!
